During the early stages of planning our wedding and searching for a wedding planner, I noticed my social feed was flooded with pre-wedding cinematic videos. Seeing a common style across many of them, I thought it would be fun to create one too—but with a unique twist. I wanted ours to be more personal, filled with subtle references to things we love. And that’s how this project began.

The Concept
The story is simple and straightforward: it’s about a boy meeting a girl, and together they face challenges, growing stronger as they journey into a bigger and brighter world. Throughout the video, references/easter eggs were added to our interests like k-pop, japanese culture and the like.
Based on the current trend at the time where pre-wedding videos were using the same places in real-life. I figured we create something that doesn’t exist anywhere. Also, I wanted it to be candy, k-pop mv vibe. Just another reference to what we as a couple like.
Below shows the sketch/storyboard of the vision.
Styleframes
Before proceeding with the shoots, I had to create the world the story is set in. The vision was to create a k-pop candy inspired aesthetic. Below are the first attempts in creating that world. These were used as guide to imagine the rest of the scenes.
Previz
Since, we’ll be collaborating with a videographer to realize the project. To this end, I created a previz to show the videographer a clearer idea of what shots would be done. These makes it a lot easier for us, since the shoot will only encompass about half a day.
Breakdown
Below is a quick breakdown on the before and after of the scenes. Also, some behind the scenes from shoot.
